WHERE THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN PLAY!

CHALLENGER

CHALLENGER

Challenger aims to provide players with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy  diamond sports and participation in a team sport, in an environment that is structured to their abilities.

The season runs from October through to March each season, with a break over the Christmas school holidays.

The club will provide all players with a team uniform shirt at the start of the season. New players will also receive a club hat as part of their registration fees.  Parents may choose to provide a playing glove for their child but, otherwise, all equipment for training and games is provided by the Club.

WHAT'S INVOLVED

Games are played at Maida Vale Reserve on a Saturday morning from 8.30am-9.30am, alongside our Teeball and Machine Pitch competitions.  During a  game, all players bat and field in every inning — no one sits off.  Every player has a “buddy” who supports them throughout the game, with batting and fielding.  Players receive balls tossed to them by a coach or can hit the ball off a tee when batting.  There are no outs, every player moves around the basis and no scores are kept.  There is no training for Challenger, this is all about coming down and having fun.

SEASONAL ACTIVITIES

In addition to Saturday games, players also have various opportunities to participate in additional games throughout the season, either at our home grounds on gala days, carnivals against other Challenger competitions, and other special events held throughout Perth.

We also host multiple social events throughout the season where everyone is welcome.
